Reviews
Wonderful place to dine on a fall evening. Pork Chops and Prime Rib are phenomenal!! I went for something different and got the Candied Jalapeño Spread and it’s got an enough spice to get your attention, but not too much!
Great food, friendly staff, very clean facilities. Great portions. Fun atmosphere. Ramp entrance. We dined inside but they have a spacious outdoor area (covered)
Old school spot - the steaks and prime rib were excellent, and the potatoes au gratin were absolutely phenomenal.
My husband and I have never been to this restaurant before. We have passed it on many occasions and have heard great things about the restaurant from friends. This time was no different we actually stopped in to buy a friend a gift certificate and ended up eating dinner after speaking with the manager. You could tell the manager loved her job and spoke highly of this restaurant, which convinced us to give it a try. We found that the atmosphere (it can be casual or dressy) don't let the white tablecloths and low lighting fool you. Because from what we observed (I was actually in a t-shirt myself) there was no dress code - just a great cozy little restaurant, which included an outdoor patio as well. We found that the food was excellent, especially the steak and baked Mac-n-Cheese (definitely recommend trying both of those). Bottom line was we were made to feel very WELCOME in a restaurant with a nice cozy atmosphere that had awesome steaks and drinks with fantastic service. We definitely will be back - there is a reason they have been in business for 19 years they definitely care about their customers!!! Thank You for an awesome dinner!!!
They still got it!
I’ve been living overseas for a while and this used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Springfield. After 10 years, they are still awesome! Great service and delicious food! Ice water came to our table within 30 seconds of sitting down.
We ordered and shared the Chicken Marsala, Cecil House salad and I ordered two of the Oysters Rockefeller.
First to come out was the salad and the complementary toasted bread with some oil for dipping. The salad and bread were perfectly prepared and tasted fresh.
The Chicken Marsala came out almost immediately after we finished the salad. Timing on their part was incredibly well thought out.
The Chicken Marsala was amazing! The sauce with mushrooms was executed quite well. We decided to order the veggie if the day to accompany the main, which was the green beans. Also great!
We will be back again soon!
Recently had our 40 year high school reunion here, and I think I'm safe to say we all had great time.
We ate at Cecil & Lime last evening for our Christmas Celebration with close friends. We have always loved the food in the past and left not much more than the bone from our Tomahawk Ribeyes.
This year things have changed and we as a group have decided we won’t be back. For 2 people who had an appetizer, salad, ribeye and 1 other side item; drinking only water our bill was $111 with gratuity $20 and tax came to $141. An expensive dinner without drinks, but worth it in the past. Last night however was a huge difference for us.
The ribeye was not the Tomahawk, but that was fine. The part that made the decision not to return is the quality of meat we got. At least a fourth of my ribeye was un-chewable gristle that was left on the plate. While what I ate was ok, it was not great like years past. Our group decided that the quality of food this time was below what we could have gotten at LoneStar.
No doubt recent times have made everyone make decisions based on financial reasons. We were still willing to pay for what we expected would be great food. When what we got was far below what he have gotten there in the past we were shocked. We discussed this point as a group before even leaving and made our decision not to return before we finished talking and left. If I could offer anything to the owner I would say; Not just any steak made your reputation! What you have now will only keep the friends of family returning, and that is not likely to keep you open for years to come.
Signed,
Very disappointed
Wow can't believe I have not been to this place yet all this time well just saying I'll be back next week and the week after and after wow 😳 🤯
